Game Day

I'm going to try to keep a blog going about Sullivan. I want to remember these sweet days! So, here we go from the beginning...

November 26, 2011
It's game day! My water broke at 9:30am. I spoke to the doctor at 10:30am and he told me to come on in to the hospital. I took my time getting ready while Evan ran around the house like a mad man and packing the car. He says that he wasn't nervous, but I know that he was!
Before heading to the hospital.
We got to the hospital at 11:45am and the nurse set me up in the MAC unit to be monitored. Within an hour, we found out that it really was my water that broke and that I was in labor! The nurses moved us into a labor and delivery room and started me on pitocin to help get labor moving along. I was 5 cm dilated at this point. I wasn't really in too much pain with my contractions even though they were coming every 2-3 minutes. After a couple of hours I asked for an epidural and soon after that I dilated to 7 cm.

My nurse, Sandi, came in at about 6:45pm and let me know that her shift is over at 7:00pm. I was really sad that she would be leaving soon. She checked to see if my cervix had changed any. She looked up at me and said, "Oh wow, you're ready!" I was 10cm dilated and ready to start pushing. Evan and I couldn't believe that it was game time!!! I started pushing at around 7:00pm. Sullivan arrived at 7:45pm-- just in time for kickoff!

These are all the pictures I have from the night he was born. I need to get more from our family!
